I sweat over this all the time too although i connect via usb/serial. Try:
1. increasing the NCU application memory
2. making a new blank Organiser file and try getting the names into it
3. throw out the ncu prefs file and see if that helps setting them
NCU was sent to remind us that Apple engineers are not gods. They sometimes
hang out in the other place.
