Re: [NTLK] Screen Protectors/Stylus: Good, Bad, Ugly?

My previous experience with Screen Protectors was a type of adhesive
protector on my older Newt 130. They interfered with screen vision. They
seemed to have lines which were readily visible when the back light was
turned on. I can't remember what their product name was. However,
because I developed a small scratch on my screen before using the
protectors, I was sold on using them with any PDA.

When I was using a Palm IIIc, I used very good screen protectors that
again had an adhesive quality. However, these truly seemed to be
"invisible", creating no additional barrier to screen visibility. I was
hoping to get something like that for my Newton. At Christmas, I was
given a set of Nu Shields to use with my Newt u2000. I currently am
using my first one. While it appears to be clear, even when backlit, it
does seem to make the screen harder to see, especially when I don't use
the backlight feature. I took it off last night and was once again
amazed at how nice the "naked" screen looked. One advantage, though, is
that NuShields are not adhesive, so I can easily remove a protector,
clean it, and replace it.

If there is something that works better, I would like to know about.
