Just about any PCMCIA modem will work with the Newt from the ultra-slow
Newton Fax Modem to current 56K modems. I have used Motorola Power 144 and
Montana 336, Hayes Optima 336, several flavours of Megahertz modems and a
Zoom 56K with my Newton.
If you're planning to connect by cell you can do that too. I use a
Motorola Power 144 and a Motorola DPC650e phone for that.
I have high speed internet at home so I use a Farallon ethernet card to
connect the Newton to my router that's connected to the DSL modem.

I presume you have an ISP now ... as long as it's not AOL you're
probably fine and can use the same account for the Newton. All I did was add
another mailbox for the Newton to use.
