farallon is great - light battery consumption, reliable. i have no
experience of other ethernet cards.

i use the etherwave card and it works with the original ethernet cable, a
3Com cable and the deluxe newton green auto sensing triangular farallon
minihub (which does not need external power supply).

all in all a great kit for a small newton - printer - mac - internet setup.
the extra (white) 3Com cable is always in my bag, i use it when off-site, to
print to my clients printers or POP the mail via their DHCP. works almost
every time.
