Over the past week or so i have noticed that a number of people have been
enquiring about a backlight replacement service. With the start of a new
year i have been able to lower the price from 129 USD to 89 USD. The kits
have also come down in price.

Price: The price will be 89 USD plus Shipping/Handling.
Availability: Currently i have in stock Blue, White, and original Newton
Green backlights.
Colors of Backlights: I recommend using the White upgrade because due to
its light color it is unnoticeable until turned on at which point it clearly
illuminates the Newton with a distinctive white backlight.
Noise/Buzzing: A number of people have emailed asking whether this upgrade
makes the same buzzing noise characteristic with the typical Newton
2000/2100. The good news is NO it does not! The buzzing/Noise is
approximately 60% quieter when compared with a non-upgraded Newton PDA.
Will i be selling kits?: The short of it is YES i will be selling kits.
The price of the kits is $69 USD plus shipping but this work is not
recommended unless you are a skilled professional and are not worried about
your Newton no longer working if done incorrectly.
Pricing for international orders: International orders will pay the same
price for the upgrade, the only difference will be the shipping costs.
Costs will increase for international shipping.
Warranty: I can't offer you a warranty. If you still have a warranty with
Apple, my service would make that void. I have no connection with Apple.
Damage Policies: As with any upgrade of this type it is strongly recommended
that you perform a full backup of your data before sending your Newton to us
for upgrade. You should also perform a full reset of the Newton brining it
back into FACTORY condition. I will not upgrade any Newton's that have
problems with them already. If a problem is noticed the Newton will be sent
back.
