That's absolutely correct. But it'll only do it with network printers
(LocalTalk or EtherTalk), not with the Print Pack cable.

Yep, you can. You just need a server with an AppleTalk stack and set up a
print queue that creates an AppleTalk printer and saves the job to a .ps
file. Certainly doable with a Linux or *BSD box, probably with SGIs since
IRIX does have AppleTalk support, not sure about anything else including
Windows.
