This is a case of "your mileage may vary". I always found the phone net
connection to be the better choice. The special LocalTalk cable was always
very flimsy at the ends and the conductors were always breaking right where
the cable entered the end piece, and this often happened after very few
flexings. And since there was no difference in the throughput, I went with
PhoneNet from then on.
