I am the guy that Peter Cameron has been talking about on the list about
not being able to connect. I have OS version 717006 and I am using a
3com 3CXE589ET card that gave that error when it was inserted. I just
finally tried ignoring that dialog (I've been really busy lately so I
haven't had time to try it earlier) and connecting anyways and it
worked. My powerbook and it had no problems. Hope this helps out.

Ok, by reading other peoples' experiences on the list, I found out my
system version was too old (717006). So I updated it to 717145.
Now, I no longer get an error when I insert the card, but neither does
an ID slip pop up (which the FAQ says means the card may be damaged). Am
I out of luck here?
