1) Remove the battery, unplug the ac adapter and leave the Newton alone for
a couple of hours.

2) Check that the adapter works (should be 7.5 volts, positive contact
inside).

3) Plug in the ac adapter, leave the battery out. If the Newton comes back
to life
(this might take quite a while, I'd wait at least 2-3 minutes),
congratulations.
If it doesn't, try all the reset versions described in the pdf.
It sometimes help to reset for a veeeeeery long time.

If it comes to life again, put the battery back in while the Newton is
powered
by the adapter.
