Since someone triggered this rule today (Hi Ed!), I think I should mention this
now.
The list software will now check for messages with excessive amounts of quoted
text. What is considered excessive? I have set it to 70% of the total
message. Since this has been running (Sunday), only one message has been
refused out of... a lot. I'm hesitant to set it lower right now. In a little
while, we'll see how it's doing (either you can send feedback to me, or maybe
I'll set up a poll).
If you quote too much and the list software catches you, your message will be
rejected (ie. will not be sent to the list) and you will get a helpful
explanation of what happened and why.
I hope that this helps out those digest and Newton readers, and also teaches some people a bit of netiquette. I don't th=
ing either of those are Bad Things.
As always, if you have any problems or questions, discuss.
