Victor and I were quite deliberately comparing his Personal LW NTR and
my (ex-) LW IINT. The IINT is half again as heavy as the P-NTR, and
bigger, but not much.

You know, it really was fun, writing PostScript by hand with the aid
of the red and blue books, and resetting things inside this printer by
sending print jobs to it. Those days are not yet gone. I have a
colleague who, to save us a lot of work in a time-crunch situation
involving other people's graphics, edited a PDF file by hand, using a
plain text editor (he knew how to compress and recompress, and the
trick was getting some byte counts coded in at the end right).

Victor, if you're really into old LaserWriters, the University of
Waterloo has a surplus sale twice a week, and there's usually some
there. Macs, too. A couple of weeks ago I could have bought a Quadra
700 with colour monitor for $15. Those are Canadian dollars, too. --PR
