    I wonder if that would work with my 3Com Megahertz 3CXE589ET? The
card shows up in my Newton as 589E, and it also uses a modified Farallon
driver, so maybe I'll give it a try.
    However, I don't understand the last paragraph - render the drive
unbootable? The System hard disk? Or was this a typo for "driver"? But
how a driver can be rendered unbootable?
