Yes, it is.

The original AirPort AND the current, AND all the "802.11" / WiFi
basestations and cards in common use out there now are 802.11b.

There are some other 802.l1 wireless standards impending or perhaps
available but not in common use, such as 802.11a (higher speed) and
802.11g, I believe. And there are some older "WaveLAN" cards from before
the 802.11 standards I believe. They share a name but are not the same
thing.

But the "WiFi" used by the WaveLAN/Orinoco cards, the AirPort basestations
(all models) and all the other 802.11 wireless WiFi units you can buy are
802.11b.
