Yes. I have had AppleTalk problems sometimes where it just seems to stop
working. I have to restart the computer. Not just log out and back in, but
restart. That seems to clear my AppleTalk problems. Turning off and on
AppleTalk in X with the Network preference didn't seem to be enough.
