That sounds like my high school. When the Pentium CPU first came out,
they were teaching BASIC programming on TRS-80's running DOS v2.0. My
senior year ('95-'96) PS/2 model 80's started appearing on a Novell
network around the school. I think they were 80286's with one megabyte of
memory, if recollection serves.
At least they used a VAX for administration.
