Two comments on the recent audio-out discussion:
1. The sound-out from the Newton might not be better than an FM radio, but an FM radio will not work on the NY subway. Th=
e newton's MP3 player does.
2. As I suggested before, it might be possible to install an audio-out jack in the place occupied by the pen holder (not =
the pen silo, but the small holder above it). That space might be large enough for a small 3/32" earphone jack, rather th=
an than the larger 1/8" headphone jack. The earphone jack is monophonic, but so is the Newton's output.
