I obtained what claims to be an "hp digital home networking 11 Mbps
wireless LAN PC card" on the outter box slip cover. The real box inside
says it is an "HP Wireless World PC Card Gold (128RC4)". Inside that box
is a CD with "Lucent Technologies" and "ORiNOCO" all over it. You can get
this NIC at CompUSA for about $120.
Yes, this NIC is a rebadged wavelan gold. The A3 wavelan driver recognizes
it. I haven't gotten it to work in anything I have at home because my
little wireless LAN has a Linksys WAP in the middle.
AVOID LINKSYS WIRELESS PRODCTS.
I'm going to see about getting another WAP this weekend.
