[NTLK] Accessorizing your Newt or eMate

Just wanted to pass along a couple of recent finds ...

A little while ago there was a posting about a bag from Mountain Equipment
Co-op <www.mec.ca>, which caught my eye because their big retail store is a
block from my office. So I browsed around there and found this great bag:

Serratus Globe Trotter Shoulder Bag
Product Number: 4013-349

It was perfect for me because it's very compact and light, but big enough to
hold not only my 2100 but pretty much everything else I need - wallet,
umbrella (getting to be an everyday need in Toronto lately!), cell phone,
cards, papers, keys, flashlight, etc. The cool thing is that its main
compartment is padded on all 4 sides and on the bottom, providing lots of
shock protection for the Newt. It's also very tough, water-repellent and
comes with a shoulder strap and a waist strap, both of which are removable.
Only CA$36 which is about US$23.

This bag has replaced the bulkier and heavier briefcase/laptop bag I used to
carry. Now my formerly sore back is much happier about carrying around my
two-year-old and all of HER stuff! (She has a lot more stuff than I do.)
(But not a Newton. Yet.)

The other nifty item I found is an eMate stand that swivels. I wanted to
get a "Podium CoolPad" for my laptop, and I ordered a bundle that included a
smaller CoolPad called the Traveler. Turns out that the Traveler model fits
perfectly and almost invisibly under the eMate. Lets you swivel your eMate
around 360 degrees, which I'm finding very handy for various purposes. It
has no-slip rubber feet that grip the desk and the eMate very well. It
seems very well designed and made.

You can get it for US$20 from <www.roadtools.com> and, according to their
Web site, also at Staples and Apple Stores. For my fellow Canadians,
Staples in Toronto had never heard of it, but I ordered it from
<www.mobileexpert.ca> and it arrived ExpressPost the next day.

Sorry if the above sounds like ad copy, but I'm very pleased with both these
products and wanted to pass along the info.
