Actually a little later it was mentioned that despite the similarity in
names, it really isn't nethack at all.

If you like Nethack you might try out some of the Inform games, and play
them using YAZI from www.scrawlsoft.com. Zip v4, v5 and v8 are supported,
maybe some earlier forms too. OK it's still not nethack though. But
playing HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy on the MP is intrinsically
rewarding :)

Scrawlsoft also has a neat vt100 term, "pt100" so you could telnet into one
of the nethack tournaments that just started, perhaps, or a unix box that
someone's running it upon. I used pt100 extensively on mp130 and then
2100 (mostly for pine and tin), it's pretty nice.

The Scrawlsoft pages are old but they responded to emails promptly a
little while ago.
