I have to admit that is a nice presupposition. If they were upfront
with that saying that. Maybe (but maybe not) I would not mind so much.
I still find $15 for shipping a Newton via Ground to be way to high.

I view shipping and tax in the same way. Shipping is just a tax not to
pay tax. When choosing to buy a product I will look at shipping against
tax. If shipping is less I mail (web) order. If more I buy local.

Now with a Newton I do not really have a choice. I have to buy web. No
one locally is selling. Hence my "tax" is between 19% to 43% for
shipping charges. Even if I buy the $79 newton the tax is still almost
20%. That is to high for a 2lb package shipped ground.
