...from the article: "But, despite Markham and the nattering Newt
lovers' protests, there really is no comparison between the Tablets,
full-fledged laptops with at least an 866MHz CPU and many gigabytes of
storage, and a Newton's 160-MHz processor and 4 MB storage capacity."

He's quite right, there is no comparison. The 866MHz CPU can reportedly
get 60% accuracy in HWR with average handwriting, while the 160MHz CPU
can easily get 90+% accuracy, also with average handwriting. The tablet
gets maybe 8-10 hours of battery life, the newton gets 24 or so.

Oh wait, that is a comparison - and the one with the lower numbered
specs looks better. *sigh* Why am I writing this here? You guys all
know it already.

Gates and his "decade and many millions of dollars" has made a less
usable pen interface, not finally making a usable one. I'm sorry, touch
a button to go into erase mode? That's just pathetic. Next they're
going to say that to cut/copy/paste you have to go up to the edit
menu...

I know which one I'd rather take notes on...

That's the problem with world domination. Nobody is willing to wait for
it anymore, work slowly towards it, drink more and enjoy the ride more.
