1) Which MP you have? for MP2x00 you need a dongle or the SER-001 installed.
2) Do you want to connect to PC or Mac? You need the appropriate cable.
3) If you use a Mac, does it have a serial port? The more recent models do
not have a serial (printer/modem/AppleTalk)port anymore, but USB instead.
4) Install NCU on your computer, start it, connect your Newt, start the
docking application on your Newt, select serial connection - thats it.

In case you have a Mac w/o serial interface I would recommend to use
Ethernet.
