I think this would make the coolest stylus (no pun intended, but literally
true too), no batteries needed, lasts for years. Can't ship out of the U.K.
  unfortunately.

Woo..that's actually a good idea. A "frozen" pen with a clouded rod in
the middle that catches light from a colored LED. The LED and some small
batteries could fit in the end cap (with slight length/taper modifications
& switch). The batteries would last long enough for it to be useful as a
superficial prop on the right occasions.
