John and James,

I don't think WEPKeyMaker uses the same password-hashing algorithm that
Airport does. In other words, you're giving the driver the wrong WEP
key.

As Jesse suggested, you want to use the Airport Admin Utility to
determine your WEP key.

On OS X: "configure" the base station, then click "password" in the
toolbar.
On OS 9: "configure" the base station, then choose "Network Equivalent
Password" from the menu

That's the WEP key you want to use.

I can personally confirm that WaveLAN silver cards work, as do SMC
2632W cards. However, on the WaveLAN silvers, you can't use 128-bit
WEP, because the card simply doesn't support it.
