You need a driver for these, when it is possible (i.e. when the card
can be used by the Newton's PCMCIA controllers).

Typically, CardBus cards won't work. But also some interfaces are not
possible with the PCMCIA controller because you cannot assert the
signals you want to assert like this (that's the case of TrueIDE ATA
cards).
