[NTLK] What's Hobbletablet()?

I was searching the function list of the MP2100 and found a function :
"hobbletablet()".
    I'm not an english native speaker, but i think that hobble means to
"difficult walk". After calling it in from the NTK inspector, i tested a
severe aligment drift my newton suffers and it seems like it's gone.

    Does anybody know what's that function for?

    Could you try your newton's aligment problems (if any) before and after
calling that function?
