You'll need to use serial mode with the keyspan thing, since it won't
do localtalk/Appletalk...

This is due to the MacOS (the old one) using type and creator codes to
identitfy files, while the newer MacOS (OSX) uses the extension (ie
.pkg) this means if you are going to use a "classic" based package
installer you'll need Packtype or something else similar which
correctly sets the type and creator codes.

If you are going to use an OSX based package installer (ie Newten) then
you don't need to change the type/creator.
