If you just DL your mail to the Newt and go here's the text so you
aren't left in suspense until you get web access:

The Sims Ported To The Newton.

Apple's bastard child, the Newton, has experienced a renaissance in the
past year that had its crowning achievement over the weekend. Adam Tow
, one of the patron saints of the erstwhile platform, spent the entire
weekend reverse-engineering Aspyr's The Sims and has ported the popular
game to the Newton.

"It was surprisingly easy," said Tow. "But, then, I'm getting pretty
good at this by now."

Tow's achievement comes after the Newton has in recent months received
its own version of iSync ,802.11b drivers ,an MP3 player , an RSS
reader and, by Tow, a weblog editor and an HTML editor .

"Just because Steve Jobs killed the Newton," Tow said "doesn't mean the
Newton is dead. The Newton is a living, breathing force unto itself.
It has a will to survive. And, yes, sometimes it's a terrifying
undying kind of will, like Night of the Living Dead kind, like some
sort of zombie technology that just keeps clawing it's way out of the
grave.

"But that's one of the things I like about it. I like it's fortitude,
it's resilience. I like the way it growls and demands sacrifices of
human flesh.

"Wait... did I say that last part out loud?"

While Tow stresses that his port is a little rough around the edges,
Crazy Apple Rumors Site Labs was able to play several days worth of
activity, upload Sim skins available on the Internet and take the
following screen capture.

Tow indicates some of his port's shortcomings include a small selection
of jobs for the Sims, a limited number of decorating options and the
occasional two-headed Sim.

"I really don't know what's up with that. I think I'm forgetting to
carry a one somewhere."

Tow has contacted Aspyr and hopes to make an arrangement for the game's
distribution by Macworld New York in July.
