I pulled this off the livejournal site
(www.livejournal.com/users/newtonsusers) for newton users. I haven't
tried this so I can't say anything about it really working. While I
think of it, would it be possible to use my newton as the "tablet"
for inkwell with my powerbook running jaguar? Just a thought but I
like the idea.

A little surprise for the Mac OS X 10.2 using Newton fans...
Well, everyone knows that Jaguar has the Newton's Handwriting
Recognition as a feature, but I discovered how to extract the
Newton's "Casual" Font from the Inkwell software in 10.2 for personal
use. Here's how you do it...

First off, I recommend having the window in column view so you can
keep track of where you are. From the root level of your hard drive,
go to:

/System/Library/Components/Ink.component/C ontents/SharedSupport/

In the SharedSupport Directory you will see one item, "InkServer".
Control-Click on it and select "Show Package Contents". A new window
will open. Open "Contents", and from there, open "Resources". You
should see the file "AppleCasual.dfont" among the files there.
Option-drag it to the desktop (to copy it rather than move it) and
then put the copy in /Library/Fonts. There you go. You have the Apple
Casual font for your own use! And it's a TrueType font!
