Hello and good day Newton Users,
It has been a fair while since I have last updated you on my status of the frozen Newton project. Over the past several months I have been spending much of my free time looking for a factory (both locally & internationally) that would produce the frozen Newton for us economically and with a quality product such as we are used to with the Newton thus fourth.

The search has not been easy primarily because unlike Apple, all of you, not unlike myself do not have near unlimited monetary resources. I was also a little bit surprised at the amount of interest in this project. I was under the impression that a replacement case (in a given color) would be one of the best after market upgrades to the Newton. Although my request for 300 people was high, I know that there are many thousands of Newton users out there and that I should be able to get this. Up to now I have only gotten a fraction of my requirement in interest from the Newton community.

All this being said, I have found a factory to produce the casings for us. Not only this but they are promising in writing the mould that will be produced such that until the desired result is perfect they will keep working on the mould. This service comes at a price and I have found little difference in the price of production worldwide. Instead of every single plastic component on the Newton being produce in the "frozen" color I am forced to settle on the following:

1. base case+top case (Font and back of the Main casing)
2. mid case+batter door+pen holder

The above parts are the easiest to replace and will breathe new life into the Newton or repair your cracked/worn casing. The mould will produce casings that look like the Newton 2100 (with the ability to place the apple logo - on the middle bottom of the front of the old case - into the new case).

The price is unfortunately going to be a little higher as well and I will be forced to brunt a majority of the cost on my own. Right now I will need $325 per casing per person and if any of you that received this email decide to not go though with this project the price will increase. Even at this price only 75% of the total costs will be covered by you. The remaining 25% will be coming out of my pocket with the hopes that once the casings are produced more people will want to have one.

Of course if you have any questions at all about anything that has been said here please email me and I will get back to you ASAP. I am also going to consult a legal authority to the effect of how to manage all your funds once I receive them. I am an honest seller and I guarantee you that your money is safe with me however I would still like to provide participants in the project with some type of assurance other than my word. If any of you have any ideas please let me know.

Please let me know ASAP if you are willing to join the project (or continue with the project if your already on my list)

Regards
Ferdi Ozguner
PS for those of you who have recieved this email privately it has changed to reflect those users who i cannot get a hold of or have decided not to participate.
