I know exactly what you mean, man. I used to bike in to the public
library to use the "internet gateway" on the terminals. That way I
could spend hours instead of minutes, since I didn't need to keep the
phone line clear like I did at home. As a matter of fact, I'm still
pissed that they ditched the terminals last year. Now you have to go
to their web site and access the card catalogue via a clunky, slow
interface. I still telnet into the old DYNIX system, though, since
they have yet to shut it off.
