Bits I forgot to mention in my previous post:
Yes, this method does involve the recipient of the card wiping the
internal store. I couldn't find another way to do it, but maybe other might
have a suggestion.
People who plan to rely only on ethernet should really consider getting
a flash card to use for backups. If the internal store goes south for some
reason no number of backups on the computer or even on ATA cards will help _
they would simply have no way of getting to them.
