[NTLK] The end of the road

With deep sadness I have come to the end of the road.

A friend asked me to put his Palm device on eBay. No problems I
thought, I received the box and plugged the charger/stand in to charge
the Palm and test it before putting it up for sale.

It has a colour screen, I can see it in daylight without squinting. And
then the size, I know that Palms and Newtons are different machines as
I've owned Palms.

Graffiti has improved a bit but is still not as intuitive as Newton's
HWR. It syncs seamlessly with my Macs and PC laptop WITHOUT ANY
ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE. I never got iSync to work.

It does not have the sound capabilities of my Newton
I never used that.

It's fast and responsive
Newton now seems slow even though it's CPU is almost 10x as fast as the
Palm.

It has a bluetooth socket
Newton has 2 x PCMCIA sockets and therefore most things that plug into
them.

It goes in my pocket (even in it's leather case) and I have my shopping
list in my hand (sorry Newton but you're just TOO big)

I have colour pictures of my children.

Silver Screen (a Palm utility) gives it a Mac like look and feel

I have Lemmings in colour!

I wish my mate had his own eBay account

My Newton kit follows in s different mail before going on eBay to pay
for the Palm

I'm so pissed off

Ian
