 Would anyone with experience of getting the Phonecard up and running be kind
 enough to guide me (and other potential users) through the process?

DL the driver Nokia Cardphone 2 at:
http://www.fiutak.de/newton/
and install the package.

Insert the card, it will be detected as modem. Go to the inbox, choose modem prefs.
Tap Bottom PC card and modem settings: Nokia Cardphone 2.
If your owner/internet settings are right, that should do the job.
