I had exactly the same experience. Just that I ought to know by now not
to have my computer's volume turned clear up as loud as it can go, as
it startled me and sent my 3 cats screeching across the room at nearly
1am, but it was kinda amusing. ;-)
I guess I was lucky since all I had to do was command-Q Safari to stop
it after I recovered my wits. Cute trick, and I promptly forwarded it
to a couple of friends.
