I can tell you that it doesn't work with the Newton. I bought one, only to
find out it doesn't work. :-( I had to return it, and replace it with a
SWII. (This was Shreve ages ago--what a pain). Worse, because it's a serial
printer, you can't use the PrintPack and use the Canon drivers with it. If
you can find the Canon model of the Personal SW, it will work.
