Yes, there is.
The most common thing is that the original extensions coming with NCU are
replaced with newer ones that do not work with NCU.
The easiest thing is to install NCU again or check for the version of
AppleTalk ADSP tool if you intend to connect via Ethernet or
Apple Modem Tool if you intend to connect via serial.
The co0ntrol panel "extensions on/off" shows the version.
For both you should have teh NCU version and not te one that comes with the
Mac OS.
