I didn't sort of reluctantly. I have had the account since the start
and I use my email address for everything. Which explains my spam
issues. : )

In the beginning it seemed to filter a lot but once Mail had spam
filtering added the the .mac account began letting several get through.
I get anywhere from 10 -20 pieces a day of actual spam. Some of it is
making very self conscious of my masculinity. : )

I know that email addresses are farmed from list and forums which I
post to frequently. I used to post to the W3C list more often but at
one the spam was so bad I stopped posting on it and everything else.
After which the spam trickled to almost nothing.
