So first we learn that MIT is developing totally hot and cool stuff which
already went commercial and off market a half dozen economic cycles ago
(this possibly suggests it would maybe be smart to have university staff
read newpapers or keep students 5 years longer on campus *grin*).

Then we learn about all the cool stuff iPod can do now: It's an audio
recorder (Belkin Voice Recorder for iPod w/ Dock Connector
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=&Section_Id=201526&pcount=&Product_Id=158384
and it's kewl to use as store for pictures (Belkin Media Reader for iPod w/
Dock Connector

So what is so new about all that stuff (besides the 40 GB volume)?!

The only thing I haven't seen on a Newton yet that iPod has is having it's
own radio tuner, but I reckon this and tv is only a question of finding the
proper PCMCIA card (in itself quite a task, but hey - did you know they
once built PCMCIA sound cards, e.g. Argosy and EgoSys? There were also once
FM + TV-cards - Margi, Nogatech...) and then writing a driver (how I wish I
were a programmer!).

But imagine - a Newton-based video recorder, how cool would that be... or
plugging a sound card in and bring better audio + line-in to all the handy
pre-MP 2xk-Newts... and use Newtons as MP3 audio recorders with edit
functionality (e.g. do an interview, edit it on the Newt and play it back
in the studio off the Newt)... That all would be so... so... so today!

Cheers,

DJV.

P.S.: Paul, what's the size limit for ATA Support (if any)?
