I have always heard that $999 price, so I was quite surprised when I
saw that $1250 figure -- on a 2000 to boot!

As for buying one of my own, I managed to miss the entire Newton life
cycle (pesky sea duty) ... so my first Newton, an eMate, was purchased
in mid-2002. This was quickly followed by a 120, a 2100, two more
eMates, and somewhere along the way I managed to pick up a 130 ... and
now, an un upgraded 2000.

Good thing those prices dropped ...!
