Yup, the virus writers could be hours or days ahead of anti-virus writers,
and pre-AV2004 never prevented trojans and/or spyware Still have to be
diligent about every vector.
Norton AV 2004 is supposed to have added anti-trojan protection, but I
haven't upgraded from AV2003. Try 'Trojan Hunter', 'WinPatrol', and
'SpybotSD'.

On my Windoze computers I use three firewalls, one AV, three active
anti-spywares, three passive anti-spywares, and mailwasher. Haven't had
any problems since I did all this for over three years, over 108,000 emails
a year, and ave. one spam email a day(dict. attacks).
On my iMac(OS 9.2) I use one firewall, one AV(Virex), and POPMonitor.

Yup no AV writer can make a universal definition, too much to cover... or
get a Mac. ;-)
