Well, I'll jump in. I only discovered Escale yesterday (ok, this
morning, just don't ask how close to yesterday it was), and installed
it. It communicated with my Newton with no trouble, but wouldn't do
much beyond that. It said it was installing a package, but a
loooooooooong time went by with no results. Tried that twice - once
with the TCP-IP (en) package in the Escale DL and once with another
package. Same results. The synch seemed to put some birthdays into
the Newton, but I haven't been able to figure out where. It was nice
to have the two machines see each other after so long, however.
Systems:
Newton 2000 (upgraded) connected by Appletalk via a Farallon ethernet
bridge and Cat5 cable directly to an Airport Extreme Base Station. 12"
Powerbook G4 running OS 10.3.3 on the other end, connected to the Base
Station via Airport Extreme. The Base Station has all software updates
except the one released this month. (I did notice that some
difficulties have been experienced with Airport Extreme, but I
interpreted them as wireless issues with the Newton - perhaps I
misread.)
