Or, if their system is like the university I'm at, they have special
provisions for machines that can't handle https. In particular, PalmOS
machines cannot talk https without an external proxy. If they have
some sort of registration process to go through for Palm devices, you
might try looking into that.
Also, certian devices such as webcams can't handle any sort of
authentication at all! In these cases, they generally manually log
them in permanently. I'm sure if you talked to your tech division,
they'd be intrigued to get such an unusual request! (Speaking as a
tech support fielder at a uni.)
