Yes, the Newton can now accept cards as large as 512MB (1GB
Microdrives were found to be flaky). The use of such a card however,
is somewhat limited as it is still quite slow (I believ this is
unavoidable). It does work better however if you partition that 256MB
card into smaller partitions (say 16MBs) - you can mount more than one
partition at a time.

To use ATA, you will require Paul Guyots ATA driver (shareware).
