i had my newton apart, trying to decide where to put the switch for the
speed upgrade, and when i put it back together, i had a humm when the
backlight is on.

when i first put it back together, the touchscreen didn't work, but i
figured out that the ribbon cable was mispositioned. could this have
something to do with it?

do they just humm?

any ideas?

sonny hung?
