David,

Thanks for your observations and hope the move works well for you.
What you say makes me think that pressure to leave or reduce the importance
of the Newton in one's life will probably come down to your need for data
entry and editing.
Where you need to interface with other systems and handle their data types,
the Newton is going to struggle more and more.
But where the HWR and interface are the defining features, the Newt is still
a strong proposition.
Personally, I regard my Newt as a electronic notepad and I continue to pour
stuff into it with words and drawings.
Most of the data traffic is out from the Newt, not into it, so the existing
interfaces work just fine. I also elected to keep some of my data (like
contacts) only on the Newt and I never sync (or wish to).
These different ways of working will probably determine how effective the
Newt remains in one's everyday experience.
Should NewtOS ever make it onto new hardware, things could very well change,
especially if new (and old) developers can be attracted to the platform.
Joel.
