I love the Yamaha drives, especially the scsi variety, Plextor on the other
hand, well I would never own one. I have had too many service calls on
Plextor drives.

And yes the Yamaha has amazing reproduction qualities for music as well as a
great data ripper! Not to mention some other proprietary features.

As amazed at the reactions on this topic as I was last time around, for
me Jon summed some of it up nicely.
It's strange how 'digital copy' immediately evokes the reaction that it
must be identical, even if we're talking about a chain that isn't
completely digital.
Since I was tired last night I didn't even think of the digital to
audio conversion, just to name one.
And so far I haven't seen a reaction on the links to Yamaha and Plextor
about jitter I posted, seeming to specifically address problems for
CD-R writers.
