To Victor and the list members,

I just want to say that as a Newbie, I took exception to the criticisms of
the list and especially Victor.

I don't even remember how I found out about the Newt, as I'd never seen one.
Maybe an obscure reference in a Mac article. But I checked it out through
this list and decided I had to have one. Not only did I learn everything I
know, which is not much but only due to my lack of time to put it all
together, put I learned about poutine, not that I truly care, but I'll try
it one day.

Lots of times this list is too technical for me as I'm not at that stage and
the small percentage of OT posts break up the boredom. Sometimes they are
too much, but hey, I'm learning more than I ever would without the list. And
I also know that thanks to this list there is an incredible archive with
information that I can use when I advance in my knowledge.

And I think of the Ferdi/Woo affair as a Newton World Soap Opera. It hasn't
offended me in the least and I have the option of skipping over.

And of course the patience of the older list members who are constantly
repeating answers that I personally know can be found in the archives since
that is where I have been first for most of the newbie questions that I see.

I also used the list to buy a few items, such as my MP2100. Yes, I could get
it on eBay, but I feel safer checking the archives for the length of time
the member as been on the list and how much he loves the Newt and I know I'm
not going to be ripped off. Sort of like a badge of honor.

Once again, I'd like to thank you all. Not all Newbies feel the way Anil
does.

Yes, we love the Newt, but there is another world out there that seeps in on
occasion.

Best to you all, and Victor keep up the great work.

Diane
