Right. The recharable pack has two contacts that connect to the thermositor
inside the pack to monitor tempature. Without those two contacts, the Newt
assumes that it is a alakine pack and therefore won't charge it. It will
just draw from the adapter if pluged in. Usually if that is the case the
message above the battery bar in Extras will says "waiting" then after a few
minutes "adapter".
