I am right handed and generally also prefer the slots down, but if you
have a wire or big antenna sticking out, switching (rotating 180) to
slots up can be helpful.
I prefer the stylus storage access with the slots toward you(down)
position.
The back of the newton joke took me a couple of tries to get also.
